Indigo can create ash, cool or dark tones. It cannot lighten hair that is already dark. Indigo needs henna or cassia powder to be able to anchor the dye molecule of indigo to the keratin in your hair.

When combined with our other natural hair dye powders, it can help create custom shades that range from dark blonde, light/med/dark browns, deep auburn-dark red, and even black. The colour results depend on your powder ratios.

Like most of our plant powders, Indigo has conditioning properties that leave hair feeling smoother and shinier.

*To achieve a deep black colour, a two-step process is typically used. First, henna is applied to the hair, and then indigo is applied over the henna-treated hair.*

Important Considerations:

> Indigo is rarely used alone for hair colouring, as it can impart a bluish tint. It's most effective when combined with henna.

> Be careful of brands and dyes that state they can achieve black using "Black Henna" in one step, they most likely contain PPD or another chemical that makes the dye release work quicker. Bear in mind, they might contain harmful chemicals which defeats the point of seeking an all-natural hair dye. The two-step process is the traditional way to do it.

> Although this is an all-natural dye, please do a skin/strand test before use. If any type of reaction/itchiness occurs, please consult a doctor.

Caution: For external use only, avoid contact with eyes. Please consult with a doctor if pregnant. Keep out of reach of children.
